You want to know... we all want to know...

What is happening?
Where is it happening?
When is it happening?

It struck me at 2am, that the real core value of this service is summed up by those 3 questions. Everything else, is just waffle.

With that in mind, I have taken the radical decision to rename "seerfeed.com" as "andthe3questions.com".

Since the service is still at an early stage, a change like this is not too difficult to pull off.

Why? Seerfeed was an elegant name to describe the service, but nobody could intuitively understand the service. Everyone needed an explanation. Not ideal.

Where as the name "andthe3questions.com" will be highly intuitive when coupled with the tag line "What Where When" and the local subdomain. For example:

farnham.andthe3questions.com - What? Where? When?

Why don't you just call them notices?

That's what they are after all, notices, and Seerfeed is the noticeboard. All be it, a clever noticeboard with a delivery system at it's heart so people don't have to come to the noticeboard to see the notices if they don't want to. People can subscribe to Seerfeed and have the notices come to them.

The word 'notice' means something to people. The word 'notifications' on the other hand doesn't seam to mean much to people.

Think I'll go ahead and change the wording...

It's been a weekend of seemingly minor alterations here at Seerfeed, but in terms of usability, a wider layout and clearer links are well worth the effort.

Prior preparation prevents poor performance. Mr.Monteith, my geography teacher told me that, and it stuck.

Yesterday, whilst out meeting local organisers, I was asked if I had any literature to leave with potential contributors to explain Seerfeed. Panic! How could I make such an obvious omission?

You can guess what I'm frantically doing now!

A seer is like an oracle or a prophet - someone who can see events beyond the here and now.

A feed is an innovation that brings new content to you - your favourite websites delivered.

So Seerfeed delivers content about events you might not see coming.

No "i" in team?

But hopefully, a few staff will join soon and make Seerfeed a proper team.

How formal should the company blog be?

Should I use this blog strictly for press releases? Would it be more interesting as diary of the Seerfeed journey? Maybe it's an ideas pad?

I think, it'll probably end up being all those things and more. We'll just have to see how it goes I guess.
